How To Set Auto-Expiry Date For Google Drive Shared Files

In google drive, user just have power to change the file privacy either fully private or public. Suppose If you set your file permisson as open, your file link will work until you don't change the accessbility. Google drive does not provide us ability to set the expery time of certain file or folder to a fixed date or month. You can do this thing by just adding a small piece of a script. Lets get started

1. First of all, copy the sharing link of your that file or folder which you want to set the auto-expiry date.

2. Click on this google script link and it will drive you to Script page section.



3. Replace the url in the 3rd line with your link (link which you copied in first step) and now jump to the 7th line and set your custom time means when you want to link will expires. You have to set the time in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM Format.



4. Next simply click on the Run button that situated upper side of your screen and further hit on start button.



5. It will ask you to authorize the app, click on continue button to authorize it.



Thats it. Now your file or folder will expire on the date which you provided to script.
