Twitter Introduces New Mute Feature For Users

According to this twitter post, twitter is going to add a new button called "Mute" for their users. With this ability, you can mute someone which you don't want to see on your twitter timeline. Twitter said that this feature is rolling out in rising weeks. This feature will available for both twitter website and iOS and Android applications.



Mute gives you more control over your twitter account. The person you successfully mute means you will not get the tweets, retweets and SMS or push notifications of that person. But the muted person can see your tweets in thier twitter home and also able to retweet it. You can either mute a person from tweet by clicking on the more button or from person profile by hitting on gear icon. The muted person will not know who muted him or you can unmute him whenever you want.
